The bend we put into our stays will fit 96% of you. Most of you will check off "normal" for your back shape when you order. Some may have a "flat' lumbar area - just let us know, and we'll pre-bend your stays to most accurately fit you. On our order forms, just select from the following: flatnnnnnnnnnnnnnnormal |

Occasionally, someone will elect to customize this bend on their own. We recommend this ONLY if all previous steps have not resulted in the perfect fit. It can be done, however, over a table top. |

Remove your stay and trace it exactly "as is" for reference in case you have to go back to the original shape. Bend in small increments over the table edge to get the desired curve. We emphasize, however, that getting an even bend in BOTH stays is quite difficult.
We use aircraft grade aluminum, which has proven it's mettle (no pun intended) with the heaviest of loads time and again without warpage. Be aware, however, that excessive bending and re-bending of your stays can weaken it!
