The LongHunter Hauler has all the comfort of our internal framed LongHunter Pack with the function of a external frame cargo hauler. It is the workhorse of our line, designed for guides and go-light hunters who travel fast and far, yet who need to carry home big loads of meat, hides and horns. Large enough to haul out whatever big game you can put on it.

Your Hauler is available as a stand alone product, or as part of any LongHunter backpack. You can also add any one of our Pack Bags (see individual model pages).
Frankly, we don't know what the weight limit is for this pack. We've tested the Hauler with loads exceeding 150 lbs. The pack sustained no damage - though we can't vouch for the guy hauling it. Want proof? Check out our Haul of Famers below!

Kifaru GunBearer®
Even your Hauler can accept a Kifaru GunBearer® - a simple, efficient way to securely carry your long gun, transferring the weight comfortably to your hips leaving both your hands free for climbing, bushwhacking, whatever. No more slings slipping off your shoulder, no more banged scopes. Originally invented for rambling in bear country, this is the safest, most comfortable way ever devised to carry your rifle and a backpack. Quicker than a shoulder sling, it's fast enough for wing shooting. With a flick of your wrist, your rifle or shotgun can be instantly shouldered for firing. Fully adjustable for any length rifle or shotgun, use it right or left handed, or remove it when you aren't packing a long gun.

Chad McMurray
130 lb. propane tank

Here are my Alaska photos of the Long Hunter in action. It performed flawlessly throughout the entire season!
The Dall Ram, (37") was killed in August near Horsefeld in the Wrangell St. Elias Park in Alaska.
The L.P. tank was about one-third full when this picture was taken. I was packing it up to the airstrip to be flown out and refilled (3/4 mi. from camp). They weigh about 85 lbs. empty and this one had 45 or so lbs. of L.P. left in it. I had pushed one of these tanks in a wheelbarrow and was not happy about it. So the next one I strapped on my pack frame, laced it up tight and even with the unwieldy nature of this tank, the frame kept the load centered and me right on my way even through Horsefeld Creek. No Problem!

Over the summer I used the pack to travel from Tn. to Alaska by train, truck, bus, ferry and airplane without incident. I used the pack, whole carried by myself and strapped to pack horses with my gear and carried all manner of gear, equipment, groceries, horsefeed, Dall Sheep, fuel tanks and other assorted stuff without any problem.

I used the whole pack getting to camp and then took it apart and used the pack frame, top pack and gunbearer to accompany the guide and hunter. The gunbearer is wonderful. Carrying out a heavy load, walking in, often following grizzly tracks in the creek bottom with low visibility and a pack soaked in Dall Ram blood and scent from the day before, made me very happy that I had my rifle with me and could get it to my shoulder so quickly and could carry it in the gunbearer so unobstructively.
I also carried my pack elk hunting in N. Mexico though the guide and I packed out my bull on mules and horses. It performed well in the Gila and in that dry climate the Platypus was super.
By the way, thank you for responding to my order so quickly last year, you had the pack to me in about half of your asked for 6 weeks and just in time for my Alaska departure.

Thanks again, if there is anything I can do, don't hesitate to call.

Robert Webb - 80 lbs.
I am the guy from Loveland Colorado that bought a longhunter pack with cargochair last Wednesday to get my elk out with from you. I wanted to tell you i hauled both hind quarters out on it- plus the horns as you see in this picture and it worked great for me. I was amazed at how much room this pack has with cargo chair added on to it. I am very happy to have this now for more future hunt's where i am sure it will be put to use many more times to come down the road. Thanks for a great product,
Robert Webb

Scott Adams - weight unknown
I wanted to let you know how much I've enjoyed my pack. I've had it  for about 4 years now and it has performed wonderfully. I've attatched a couple of photos of the pack in action. One of the bucks is a monster Boone and Crocket whitetail!

Hello. After much research I purchased, or more correctly, my wife purchased for me at Christmas a Long Hunter pack. I was skeptical about going to an internal frame pack due to stories that you can't carry as much and so on. However, after using it for spring bear hunting, I found that our research was correct.
1. It is definitely quieter than my other packs, that's important when it comes to hunting.
2. I packed out a bear down the mountain this week that squared 5'9". I brought out the bones, hide, head all in one pack load. It was the most comfortable pack that I ever had the pleasure of overloading. And the myth that you can't carry as much in an internal frame has been shattered in my mind. I guess the people that don't think that internal frame packs are as versatile as external frames have not experienced a high quality pack such as yours.
Thank you,'
