ANTERO

The Antero is the second pack in our EDC line designed with the commuter / daypack user in mind. The slim profile keeps the 1500 cubic inches (24.5L) close to the wearer so it’s easier to get in and out of cars, busses, through tight trails and fit under desks. There are two deep water bottle pockets on either side and a hydration bladder sleeve on the interior with openings under both side flaps for hoses. Three smaller zippered pockets help organize smaller items. The glasses pocket up top with a dummy loop keeps small and fragile items away from the heavier items below. The front panel has an outer zippered pocket with a key loop as well as an inner zippered mesh pocket. The panel has 4 #10 YKK zippers, one matched pair up top and two in both bottom corners for access to all parts of the main compartment. The inside has a sleeve for water bladders and will also fit most 15” laptops. As always our packs come with a chamber pocket that hangs near the top and is detachable. The bag is made with 500 Denier Cordura and lined with 400 D packcloth. The back panel is constructed of ¾” open cell foam covered with moisture wicking Dri-Lex®. At the bottom of the back panel is a patch of Slip-Not textured fabric. The Omni Belt can be secured through the back panel giving the Antero some load bearing capability. When not in use the tail ends of the belt can also be tucked up in the open space behind the back panel for storage. The front has Pals webbing that is 4 rows by 6 columns and will hold any of our belt pouches or organizers. There are mounting points on the bottom and sides for use with a Grabit as well. The side compression straps help stabilize the load and can be used to secure items like tripods and hiking sticks in the water bottle pockets. Designed with the Urban grind in mind and is right at home on the cross town bus or on the trail.

Optional EDC Omni Belts
Omni Suspension packs come standard without a waistbelt, allowing them to ride above a buttpack or belt rig, and can drop into your lumbar region for comfort and stability if desired. Carrying heavy loads? Add the optional EDC Omni waistbelt for added comfort and stability. Installs and removes in a flash, and will be sized to your waist. This belt is very, very comfortable but very low profile. The EDC Omni Waistbelt includes a single delta strap to help stabilize the EDC pack to your lumbar region.

The Antero is a bombproof edc/day trip pack when I don’t need something larger. Travel, day hikes it fits the bill. Bottle pockets on each side work great for several things and the interior gives me plenty of room for jacket, food and water and or a change of clothes and shaving bag on short trips. Really like it and probably gets used more than any other Kifaru pack I own.

The Antero far exceeded my expectations! The Ranger Green looks amazing. I carry my Lenovo ThinkPad daily and it works great! Adding the organizer pocket takes the pack to another level. I highly recommend adding it to the Antero. The build quality is outstanding. It is built like a tank and should last a lifetime. Knowing that it’s 100% American made is the cherry on top.

Customer Service was outstanding. I made a couple changes to my order and Kifaru staff was helpful and friendly. The pickup process was fast and easy. Thank you Kifaru for making high quality outdoor gear!

The Ranger Green Antero Pack is stunning and the quality is fantastic. The only problem is the pack is 21″ tall, not 19″ like it says on the website so I fear it might dig into my lower back with extended use. I have not worn it yet but when I tried it on, I felt some pressure. The optional Organizer Pocket is essential for the pack but the inside elastic is sewn in such a way where most of the loops are unusable.

So I’ve had the Antero since August of 2017 and wanted to use it for a decent amount of time before writing a review, but I absolutely love this bag! I have been using it mainly as a camera bag for my photography business and photoshoots and its really streamlined and easily accessible with a camera insert. The pack is really comfortable and can be cinched down tightly against your back and wont move.

I have brought it on several snowboarding trips carrying my camera and several lenses and had no issues. I use a peak design capture pro on the shoulder strap to secure my camera while snowboarding and I’m able to pop my camera off and get shots quick and easy. I was able to hold a Nikon D850 and 3-4 lenses in a camera bag insert as well as several accessories and a laptop in the bag!

It has endured quite a bit of abuse in the past 10 months and still trucking! The quality is second to none and can take a beating. The bag is extremely versatile and the side pockets work great for nalgene bottles, tripods, clothes, and even camera lenses if you’re wanting to change out lenses fast.

I attached a large belt pouch to the front of it on the PALS. I would recommend a medium or an organizer pocket due to the large flapping around since the bottom of the pocket drops farther than the bottom 3 bar sliders. I personally used a large due to having so much camera gear and accessories I wanted the extra C.I.

This bag is perfect for airports and traveling and fits great under the front of the seat on the plane.

I have a 13″ Macbook Pro and fits great in the back sleeve in the pack and easy to get in and out.

You wont regret picking up one for yourself and highly recommend adding one to your kit!

My first bag from Kifaru was an EMRII, and it was such an amazing trekking bag (after about 4 years of occasional use) that I decided to get an Antero for daily commute.

The Antero is incredibly comfortable. It fits so snugly that I barely notice that I’m carrying it. I use it with an organizer pocket and 2 bag pouches, and it is so versatile in everyday use. There’s nothing I need that I can’t fit into the bag, and I use it while cycling to work daily.

On the flip side, I find any other bag I use to be very uncomfortable and I will always opt to carry the Antero whenever possible.

After a month of use, the laptop compartment ripped at the bottom. I reached out to Kifaru’s customer service and they confirmed that it was a sewing defect. Instead of asking me to return it, they noted that I am across the world from the US, and shipped a brand new one to me instead, complete with the EDC waistbelt and velcro wraps. Amazing customer service, and I trust their quality and commitment to tough outdoor gear.

I just received my replacement bag, and will update in the future about how it holds up.
