Door Gunner

A load bearing hydration pack meant to mesh behind the wearer and still hold a decent amount of gear, the Door Gunner is a streamlined pack that won’t hold you back. With two external zippered pockets, one zippered mesh lid pocket and our removable chamber there are ample organization options. A 4 way stretch Tweave hydration sleeve, water bottle pockets and outer stash pocket help confine some bulkier items along with the bungie on the front. There are two tracks of webbing on the bottom for additional compression straps or bungie. The Spacer mesh back has a pass through for our EDC Omni belt system. With the belt and the composite stays (19.5”), the Door Gunner floats behind the user. Named by Ross Shelton as an ideal exfil pack while he was manning the .50 cal as a US Marine CH-64 Door gunner.

I’ve been using this pack for over a year. It has served me well in a number of outdoor endeavors. I use it to train for elk hunting with 30-40 lbs of weight inside and it rises to the occasion. The size small waist belt hits in the right place for me (5’7″ female) and that’s hard to find. The webbing that makes contact with your back is cool enough in sweaty conditions (using it in GA) and is not too puffy or bulky. There is ample room in the main area of the pack for all the basics of hiking (water, snacks, etc.) or tree stand hunting (range finder, extra release, ammo, binos, rope, EZ Hanger etc.). I love the stretchy material so you aren’t frustrated trying to make it give a little to reach for something. The color options are good ones but I wish it came in Realtree camo. I will keep on enjoying this pack for years to come.

Awesome pack! I fly fish three or more days a week year round and use a pack instead of a vest or sling pack for my gear. I’ve been using the pack of another company, of equal quality, and bought the Door Gunner in a moment of weakness. I sure didn’t need another pack. I’m a retired Army combat soldier so I know packs. The door Gunner is the best I’ve used. The fit and ride is awesome. It’s small, which is what I wanted for warm climate fishing, I’ll have to get a larger one for cold climate. I look forward to many years of fishing with this pack. Buy it, you won’t be sorry.

The packs layout is awesome. Plenty of pockets to keep everything organized. Day to day this is my work bag for a 17.5″ laptop, chargers, tablet, personal items, etc. On the weekends its my fishing bag or if I’m hiking its small enough for my 7 year old to tote it around. Easily 5 stars and after a couple buddies saw it they are picking one up too.

I’ve had the Door Gunner for a few months now and couldn’t be happier. Though it’s a small pack it holds plenty of gear for a day hunt. I added a Sherman Pocket and it’s a great setup, the Sherman holds all my essential hunting gear and I can fit a rain jacket and puffy vest in the DoorGunner or rain jacket and my stove/meal plus kill kit and extra gloves in the bladder pocket. With all the extra pockets on this pack it will actually hold a surprising amount of stuff. It’s also very comfortable and doesn’t hang up on brush in thick stuff. I added compression straps on the MOLLE on the bottom for strapping an extra layer to as well. Really a great little pack For treestand hunting and day hunts.

This pack is awesome for my Texas Hunting.

I don’t like to have my quiver on my bow and I can fit it perfect in one of the water bottle compartments, buckle it in and its out of the way of the pockets.

I did not get the waist straps since I only use this for stand hunting and some spot and stalk. It still rides well and I will use it some for Elk/Muley hunting when I am not going far from camp. (I really hope they make this in a 1800-2000ish ci size at some point.)

This has plenty of room for day pack and everything is easy to get to.
