FRAME SIZE RECOMMENDATIONS
22" FRAME
Recommended for people under 5'6". Ideal for military personnel, fitness rucking, compact loads, and whitetail hunters.
25" FRAME
Recommended for most people 5'6" and taller. Provides the most load-lifting capability, making it ideal for carrying heavy packs on extended backcountry hunts. The added height helps distribute weight efficiently, making it a top choice for western big game hunters hauling meat and gear over rugged terrain.

I've had the OG 44 mag for a few years now and have used it on many hunts to include elk, bear, and deer. I usually fly to my hunting destination state which means this pack gets filled to the max and thrown around by luggage carrier dudes at airports and the only thing that has broken so far is a small little piece of the plastic clip on the load carrier strap (which Kifaru will replace).
What separates this pack from any other Kifaru pack from any other one as well as any other pack company on the market, is its versatility and organizational options. I'm not a top lid fan however this pack has a built-in top lid that contains two external pockets as well as one internal. It has the traditional molle on the outside which I was able to strap two Kifaru claymores vertically which gives me even more organizational storage. I also have on the inside of the bag above the hydration bladder area (which has additional molle sewn in) 2 hip belt pouches. (See attached photos)
I love the fact that I can add horizontal compression straps anywhere I choose along the pack on the outside to strap on equipment such as a bow, rifle, or anything else I choose. The ONLY additions I would make to this pack straight from the factory would be water bottle stretchy pockets sewn to the outside of the side pockets which are huge and can fit additional gears such as tripod, trekking poles, or anything else you choose to put inside of them. From day hikes to overnighters the 44 mag has been great to use! From packing out a hind and front quarter of my elk to my whole whitetail, it was worth the purchase! Even with the elk cattywampus in the shelf it Held the weight very comfortably and securely! Paired with the Kifaru deluxe bino harness was very comfortable as well.Will definitely be getting more of these in the future!

The new 44 mag has been the "perfect for every situation" bag since picking it up! I love the modularity of the bag and the fact it can shrink down for a day setup so easily. It has more than enough room for the longer trips as well. I can't recommend it enough! It will be tough to beat for what I do and most likely will be my go to pack moving forward! 👊🏼🇺🇲

The Mag series is my favorite of the Kifaru line. I was a huge fan of the OG 44 Mag so when the updated version came I was way too excited!
The new laser cut molle is so sleek and the bag is a looker. It didn’t lose any carrying or packing ability from the original. The updates do make the bag a bit lighter which is a plus.
Great upgrade if you loved the OG 44 mag.
Tried and true all last fall in the field.

I've had the opportunity to use the newly redesigned 44 mag for the past month. I am a big fan of the original bag and was excited to be able to use the new one. I have about 60 miles with it between shed hunting and turkey hunting. I really like the addition of the weapon sleeve and strap. The redesign of the compression straps allows for full access to the main compartment without needing to undo the straps like you had to with the original. Love the upgrades and looking forward to using it this fall!
