Description

Keeping the Kifaru KU mindset alive but using far more durable materials, the 2024 KU 4300 means you can head further and higher into the backcountry without sacrificing durability. The combination of Challenge Sailcloth UltraGrid and EPX400 fabrics makes for a lightweight, durable and water-resistant combination without sacrificing strength.  Autolocking buckles on all straps keep the load in place without slipping.  A YKK zippered pocket with key hook on the lid portion of the snow collar keeps small items up top and at hand.  To keep weight as low as possible, this bag does not have a loadshelf sewn into the back.  While designed with the ARK frame in mind, this bag will also work with the Duplex and Newplex frames.

    good, even if flawed

Great bag to go on the ark frame (or one of the legacy frames) - light weight and easily packable. Still, there are a couple of dawbacks that irk me:

    1. The total diameter of the bag is not enough to accommodate the bv500 cannister - yes, I can stuff it in, but I am never sure I can get it out without ripping the bag.

    2. The lack of sidepockets for water bottles is an unwelcome, if understandable, choise - I now have to allocate additional MOLLE area on my belt to carry a day's worth of water.
