Lost Park Parka - Half Zip

I’ve had my LPP since 2018 it’s been a winter staple ever since. It’s been survival gear when I would travel to northern Canada(north of the 60th parallel), high and sub arctic with the army and my default parka for all my outdoor activities during our cold winters, we get to -50 C. Whether it’s ice fishing, hunting, skiing with my dogs or chores around the country home (mending snow fences, fixing tractors/snow clearing equipment etc.) this thing does it all. It’s built to last as its finally starting to show some wear after almost a decade of hard use (ember holes, frayed and worn cuffs, small abrasions and a few small tears) but it still keeps preforming. Size up a size of you want to layer underneath and I love the insulation as it handles moisture, perspiration and compression the best out of all the other synthetic insulations I’ve tried and arguably this is the most durable nylon I’ve seen nothing has come close. Quality gear.

This has been my favorite winter staple since I first purchased it a couple years ago. I have used it for hunting mule and whitetail deer in high winds and ice cold temps while it was spitting snow and sleet. In combo with a merino wool base layer shirt and a military fleece mid-layer I have always stayed plenty warm. Most of the time I simply wear it with a t-shirt because it’s so warm.

The quality is impeccable and the function is amazing. The reinforced areas are just where they need to be and the sewn in drop pouch inside is very handy for a phone or other small items. I honestly wouldn’t change one single thing about this parka and I hope Kifaru never does. If I lost this one I would buy another without hesitation.

A few years back I decided to go minimalist on my clothing and started selling off most of my stuff and slowly buying only high quality items. I now own clothes from Fjallraven, smart wool, etc. While I really enjoy all of them, there is just something special about this coat that gives me the fizz. (Darn Tough socks are also at the top of the list)

I disagree with the guy that said it isn’t stylish. I not only wear this hunting, I also wear it out for lunch and around town. I have received numerous compliments, not only from other men, but women as well. It’s easy for people to tell that it is high quality and that naturally sparks interest. Excellent job Kifaru, I’m now eyeing the pants in Ranger green.
