Wind River Jacket
Made from our 30d High tenacity ripstop nylon, the Wind River jacket packs up into an integrated pocket on the front. This hooded jacket will add the final wind blocking layer to your layering setup without taking up too much weight or space in your pack.
The hood, cuffs, and back hem have integrated bungie to help the garment move ergonomically with your body. In its packed form, there is a tab to secure the jacket to any of the key hooks in our packs.

I love wind shells like these especially for hiking in the rain, and as bug protection. On a recent trip the black flies were bad, and one day it rained steady so it was great to put it to the test. Compared to the patagonia houdini (my go-to wind shell over the years) the wind river is better weather protection, less breathable, and quieter. I wish the stuff pocket was a zipper chest pocket rather than a velcro hand pocket; which would make it more secure, quieter, and more accessible with a pack belt on. The hood brim stiffener is great but the elastic at the back of the hood seems pointless -if the wind was in my face the hood inflated up (but did not fall off), this should be a drawcord to snug it up instead. The lack of a drawcord on the waist wasn't an issue, I had no issues with the jacket riding up. The color and the quieter fabric make this an easy upgrade over the houdini and I think it's once of the best wind shells you can get.

I wore this elk hunting in western Washington, it held surprising well in the brush and rain. I stayed dry all morning. My hunting partners were so impressed they each bought one once we got back. great product, would recommend to everyone.

It’s a great quality jacket, blocks out the wind greatly and suprisingly retains heat for how light it is. Just wish they added front pockets (the intend use of the one pocket is for packing down) and a few more color options black and grey would be awesome.
