FRAME SIZE RECOMMENDATIONS
22" FRAME
Recommended for people under 5'8". Ideal for military personnel, fitness rucking, compact loads, and whitetail hunters.
25" FRAME
Recommended for most people 5'8" and taller. Provides the most load-lifting capability, making it ideal for carrying heavy packs on extended backcountry hunts. The added height helps distribute weight efficiently, making it a top choice for western big game hunters hauling meat and gear over rugged terrain.

The Mag series is my favorite of the Kifaru line. I was a huge fan of the OG 44 Mag so when the updated version came I was way too excited!
The new laser cut molle is so sleek and the bag is a looker. It didn’t lose any carrying or packing ability from the original. The updates do make the bag a bit lighter which is a plus.
Great upgrade if you loved the OG 44 mag.
Tried and true all last fall in the field.

I've had the opportunity to use the newly redesigned 44 mag for the past month. I am a big fan of the original bag and was excited to be able to use the new one. I have about 60 miles with it between shed hunting and turkey hunting. I really like the addition of the weapon sleeve and strap. The redesign of the compression straps allows for full access to the main compartment without needing to undo the straps like you had to with the original. Love the upgrades and looking forward to using it this fall!

I have been running this pack for the last 6 years for most of my hunts ranging from black bear day hunts to an 8-day mountain goat hunt. I have abused this pack and have had zero failures. The durability is second to none. The meat shelf is fast and easy to set up after you get the system down and holds de-boned meat securely and comfortably. It is ideal for hunts ranging from 1-4 days but can be used for longer if you pack lighter. When I used it on an 8-day pack in mountain goat hunt, I brought only the essentials and went really light on food. There are better Kifaru packs for those longer hunts but it can be done.
P.S. It can absolutely handle some big meat loads just like your mom!

Single stay! Multi day! And even extended day trips, this pack is a WORKHORSE! I can easily put this pack in day mode, but then quickly make it big enough to pack up all of my gear and move camp elsewhere! This pack gives me the ability to pack in for multiple days, yet still run it in day mode, once I find the perfect spot to hunt! I use this pack the majority of my bowhunting seasons, year after year! The options with this bag are endless
