The Kifaru Doobie is designed to replace the USGI poncho liner and are MUCH warmer. They are also great as a sleeping bag liner or ground cloth. Our Apex insulation is continuous filament – so strong that no quilting is needed. Plus, it has a better “feel” and draping capabilities – no quilting, so there are no cold spots. Coupled with our water resistant RhinoSkin Shell, you get immediate warmth and protection. Best yet, the Doobie is very compressible due to the state of the art materials used. Same great stuff we use in our sleeping bags.
Due to the fact that the human body produces a lot of perspiration (up to a quart even in one night!), you’ll want to air out your sleeping gear. If left unchecked, damp insulation will make them less efficient at trapping heat. When you get home, air out your gear again thoroughly, and hang or store it uncompressed in a Stow-Away.
Seasoned folks know that cold weather soft goods rarely get washed, as the process can reduce the effectiveness of the insulation. Never dry clean your Woobie or Slick Bag! We recommend hand washing with Nikwax Tech Wash or Woolite, then hang it over a clothes line.

The doobie is an incredible blanket/sleeping bag that earns its place in my pack year round, usually in a bivy of some kind. For winter I use it as additional insulation and to wrap around myself when stationary to just cut the chill. I’ve used it to a low of 31 without any sort of sleeping clothes and it was awesome. The stuff sack looks kinda big but it’ll stuff into the corners and sides of your pack really well so it takes up very little space.

I own both the Woobie and Doobie. They are my go-to for time in the field. I don’t use my issued sleep system anymore because these blankets do it all, but better and in a smaller package. It’s now an essential part of my packing list now. As a side note, my dog’s hair does not get stuck in the fabric which is a big plus for me.

Ordered the Doobie for some.car camping. Haven't gone out and tried it yet. Will update this review after. Im very judgmental on companies if they dont send stickers. When i was opening my box not gonna lie i was starting to get mad... thats when i saw it. Instead of stickers they gave me a small bag of jerky! Kifaru.... i will now hold other companies to your great example.

Bought this alittle over a year ago, I have yet to run into a situation where this fails to keep me almost too warm. I am 6'4 and the size was fantastic until my girlfriend accidentally washed it, still just as warm if an inch or two shorter. Good enough reason to buy another one.

Great at first, then I had to wash it. Followed the care instructions at the time and used cold water in a front load machine with scent/dye-free detergent. Hung dry and Doobie shrunk bigtime. I emailed numerous times and got no response. I now see they have updated the care instructions but still have not reached out or replied to my numerous emails.Kifaru Intl3 months ago
