The concept is really solid. The face fabric is high quality and preforms really well. My only gripes with it is the turret style hood is lacking fabric and is tight ok the shoulders and pull at your back when pulled up over your head which then in turns pulls up the back of the garment allowing for things to get really drafty up the back. Most technical mid layers these days have longer length in the back area to compensate for sitting/glassing as well to stop the cold or drafts from hitting you in the back from the garment riding up. Secondly for a high level hardcore backpacking company id expect abit more of an athletic cut but it is very boxy through the body. Overall its a nice piece Just missing a few key things in my viewpoint.

The Roam Crosslayer is LEGIT.
Perfect insulating piece that does great in the wind and light precip. Very much at home as a mid weight outer layer or as a general layering piece.
As someone who runs on the war-side, the Roam does a great job of moving moisture away from my core and makes logging miles that much more of an enjoyable activity.
Durable? VERY much so. From Russian Olives to dead fall, you won't second guess durability when moving through nasty terrain.
You will find yourself living in this thing and it will very fast become your everyday go-to. Do yourself a favor and grab a couple.

I’ve worn this piece for a few months now. It will likely become the layer that I wear most often throughout the year. Sheds heat extremely well and blocks out wind and rain. Do yourself a favor and pick one of these up!
