    Steelhead Review

I bought the Multi-cam Steelhead Standard and Hydro both for myself and another one of each as a gift. 4 total. All is fine. Except the the Multi-cam Standard I bought as a gift was missing the cord on the zipper on the firearm (rear) portion. A very small detail. But it's hard to get to the zipper under tucked under the material. And this is on the firearm pocket portion. The section that is most important to open if needed. A small detail. But very disappointing to see the person encounter this as they were trying it out as a gift in front of me. I left a message with customer service. They returned the call. And I was told I have to email a picture of the missing cord for them to send it out. This is not the old school -- do business on a hand shake I know when it was owned by the original owner Patrick Smith in Golden Colorado. I've been a Kifaru customer for 20 years.

I'm kind of old school, so taking a picture and attaching it to an email to customer service seems more trouble than it's worth. But I'll do it. If anything, it is what motivated me to write this review.

On a good note: They said the small cord is pre-cut to size. I don't need to heat the tips to prevent fraying. But I still have to make a trip to take a picture of the missing cord and email it in to them. I was told the company needs proof before they send anything out for free. $600.00 worth of items plus tax, shipping and insurance. To send out a piece of pre-cut cord that probably cost about .10…

    Perfect setup for wade fishing

I do a lot of wade fly fishing here in Montana. The steelhead, teamed up with the Hydro harness, and net holster are the perfect setup for a day on the River, Creek or a backcountry lake. It is well thought out, everything you need is right there, convenient, and easy to access. I throw a Sherman on the hydro harness to carry lunch, rain coat, and/or extra gear or clothing. The net holster is by far the best method I have found to carry my net.
