Built for long days on the water, the Steelhead is a purpose-driven fishing chest pack that keeps your gear high, tight, and ready. Whether you're fly fishing fast-moving rivers, casting from shore, or exploring remote drainages, the Steelhead keeps your essential tools organized and within reach. No need to drop your main pack or dig through layers.
Three work zones make it easy to customize for your activity. The front panel includes two reinforced stretch pockets with dummy cord tabs, a tapered center sleeve for tools like hemostats, and internal routing for retractors. Inside, a gusseted zippered mesh pocket and reinforced internal dividers keep gear secure and accessible.
Behind it all is a concealed Quick Draw compartment, sized for most pistols and accessible from either side. Lined with Velcro and outfitted with paracord loops, this pocket can double as a compact workstation when you’re not carrying a sidearm.
The Steelhead is built for full-day wear with an adjustable spacer mesh harness, tool attachment points, and a compact profile. Whether worn standalone or under your Kifaru pack, it’s made to move with you.

First impression is this thing is great. I have a Velcro " holster" that goes perfectly, carries my 10mm like it's not even there. Nice room in the main compartment for a couple fly boxes and all the other goodies you need. Bought this for a trip to the Kenai in Alaska and couldn't ask for a better way to carry my fishing gear and bear defense all in one.

Just used this set up for the first time fishing in AK on a bike in salmon meat run. If there’s anything that I’m guilty of, it’s that is there’s fishing to be done, I can’t be bothered drinking silly water. And the hydro pack that’s in this system makes it dumb dumb proof. It was a heavy bike out with wet waders, boots, and a fat pack full of fish that I wore right over top of the steelhead but always had water accessible. The front of the pouch fits a few small fly boxes, phone, my 10mm and SNACKS, all perfectly. DONT SLEEP ON THE STEELHEAD!

I’ve had my Steelhead chest pack now for over a year now and I’ve used it while out scouting, while fly fishing, deer hunting and run and gun turkey hunting. I can’t say enough good about this pack. I added the hydro harness to round out the whole package, it holds enough gear for a full day in the field perfectly. I’m sort of a minimalist when it comes to outdoor activities so for me and my style of hunting and fishing it’s worked great. Love the ripcord feature for my Glock 20 while out fishing, nice to know it’s there and instantly accessible. Great job with this pack guys. Would like to see an accessory pocket available for a box call, but otherwise I’m very happy with this pack.

I ended up buying an older color from another website. I had tried different brands, and different size chest rigs. I purchased them to hold my phone, and then I purchased a GoPro and a big selfie stick called el grande that didn’t fit in the smaller rigs. I didn’t really want to remove my backpack every time I wanted to take a photo or video, and Steelhead fit the bill. I love the interior stretchy pockets. I wrap my GoPro in a thick lens cloth I own, and into one pocket it goes. While el grande doesn’t go small enough to totally fit in Steelhead, it fits good enough. Just a bit sticks out when in the front zippered pocket. In the other interior stretchy pocket, I keep a tiny Matador towel. I even have an Adventure belt clip light I can attach to one of the bottom attachment points on Steelhead. The only recommendation I have are wider harness straps (if that would make it not hurt my neck so much after a long ruck. Steelhead even has a stretchy pocket inside a zippered compartment in the front. I’m not sure what it’s really designed for, but it fits my key with a small carabiner attached perfectly. This chest rig has not come apart, unlike some other rigs I have tried. I wear this everywhere, so if you’re going to do the same, be prepared to get f-ed with. They’re afraid you have a concealed weapon and for whatever reason, everyone has comments or an issue with it. The first time three guys all had comments, I almost stopped wearing any chest rig.
