I run this on my Mountain Warrior. There are times that I cache my ruck and wear it as a day bag for stalking. Very well thought out piece of kit.

The Kifaru Guide Lid is great for day hiking as a grab and go pack with plenty of room for food, water, and essential gear. The shoulder straps are great as well, and they are adjustable. Super light, well made, highly recommend for your main Kifaru Pack and Frame system or as a quick scouting pack.

Holds a lot of gear and has an additional chamber pocket for keys/wallet. I used K-clips to secure it to the top of my Kifaru hunting frame. That seems to hold it up higher and for me it works better than the buckles for using it in day pack mode.

Much like the grab it it seems that the lid is kind of an after thought although I’ve seen some improvements to how it attaches on a couple of the newer bags. Overall I like the size and shape. Myself I would never use the shoulder straps but that is an easy modification. I do like the Velcro stash pocket that the extra webbing is kept in. It makes for a good spot for rarely used items. But just like everything made from kifaru it function exactly as it was intended and anything I would do I really just personal preference.
