Box fit in mid section. Too much fabric for a athletic garment that will cause the extra fabric to bunch up and be uncomfortable when using a heavy pack. Solar also needs more fabric in the back hem to stop wind from blowing up your back when sitting and glassing like every other midlayer on the market. Other than that it’s a solid piece

On the search for the perfect pant

I'm getting old (and wise;)) enough to really start dialing in my gear. I work construction and live in the woods in the UP of Michigan. Lots of my hunting clothing pulls every day duty. I use and abuse everything I own hard.

For decades I'd just walk into my local department store once a year and buy a few pairs of my favorite double knee cotton duck loggers. Wear them for work, fish, hunt, town.

Just about everything. Social acceptability level was gauged by how worn out they were. Some even turned into shorts.

About 10 years ago I invested in a top end waterfowl system and found that hunting clothing can fit excellent, perform better and be lighter. WOW! Not just the heavy, restrictive gear we used to wear because 'that's how its done'.

I find being comfortable with quality gear increases my enjoyment of my sport.

    On with the pants already.

    I'm 5'11" and go about 210 (increasing).

My standard size for years has been 34 w 32 l. My non stretch pants are starting to get a bit snug.

Got the Kifaru pants a couple weeks ago and have been putting them through the paces at work, town and around my property.

First thing I noticed was how light they are. Light as in weight. Not lightweight.

Fabric is soft and feels good on my skin. But also has a little thickness that makes it feel durable.

Seems to have the right amount of stretch, and doesn't get permanently stretched out between washings when I wear it for a couple days.

    Crotch gusset is…
