Product details

The Hoodlum offers dual zippered side pockets and main compartment access from both sides while keeping a customizable back panel that works with our Nomad Gunbearer system. Its volume is 6300 cubic inches fully stuffed and 5420 cubic inches in lid mode. Dual side pockets add organization and measure 400 cubic inches per pocket. The side pockets will hold the bigger spotting scopes and have enough room for angled eye pieces. The Hoodlum weighs in at 3 lbs. with straps, buckles and chamber pocket, it can handle multi day trips or compress down to just the side pockets for quick scouts. Dual Velcro hose ports over each side pocket make routing bladders and cables easy. The lid has a Belt Pouch matrix and reinforced grab handle as well as two tabs to attach the lid straps to. The top and bottom compression straps are sewn in and connect back through the frame. The middle compression straps are connected by K Clip to the frame and buckle just over the main compartment zippers. All straps come with Autolock buckles and Velcro strap keepers. The drawstring top main compartment is accessed by #10 YKK coil zippers while the side pockets are #8. The back panel has a load shelf sewn in above the bag tensioners. Two belt pouch matrixes on front, one on the lid and the chamber pocket on the inside offer modular pouch options. There are attachment points on the bottom for either a Grab it or Sherman pocket.

    This is the one!

This is the one for long adventures to tightening the straps and get outside for a day hunt. We have been going on 7-14 day adventures using this bag and each time I am very grateful for this pack. Packing out heavy meat runs and this bag has taken all the beating. When this one wears out, I will buy another Hoodlum. Thank you Aron.

    highly recommend!!!

I have put this pack through the ringer!!! I was in a brutal accident and wasn't able to wear a pack.. but with the load lifters and adjustments this pack offers I was able to wear it through the seasons packing multiple bulls out and even a few deer this year it never once let me down!

I would like to know where I can order the rifle attachment it shows in the picture descriptions any help with that would be great

    Superb quality

This review is about a year late, but better late than never.

Last year I purchased a Hoodlum pack and a frame from a combination between Kifaru and Kifaru equipment via BlackOvis.

I went out to Colorado for a season of deer / elk hunting and found myself in a precarious situation. My brother and I were helping some friends pack an elk out and I slipped down a frozen over water chute in the Junction Creek area (Durango).

I honestly thought this was going to bring serious bodily injury or death as I was sliding quite fast toward what appeared to be a tall vertical drop. All of the cliche movie bits about seeing my life flash before my eyes was indeed a thing, but I digress. After sliding for what felt like a very long distance, my Hoodlum shifted off center of my back and stopped me dead in my tracks by catching on a fell tree in the frozen water. At the time I was probably 210 pounds with an 80+ pound pack out.

There is absolutely no damage to the pack, mounting equipment, frame, etc. The purpose of this email is to praise the craftsmanship in the manufacturing of your equipment. Without the quality and reliability of my pack, I may have never made it off the mountain.

I don't know who within the organization will receive this email, but I hope it can make it up to the shot callers as a testament that the relentless pursuit of quality manufacturing does not go unnoticed.

Thank you for providing exceptional gear for us numskulls. I am sure I am not the only…

    Kifaru's best offering

This is the pack, does everything from multi day to single day trips. Having tried multiple kifaru packs and other brands, i have confidently landed on the Hoodlum as my go-to. You will not be dissapointed. Add pouches and pullouts for organization.
