Crater (Bag only)

The Crater and Cavern were designed with the backpack hunter, and guide in mind. Other than volume, both packs are identical in design, and offer a full zip spotting scope pocket on one side, 21” zippered access on the other. Additional features include a meat shelf, and a snow collar that also folds down into a lid.

We’ve mimicked the compression system of our famous Reckoning pack, so you’ll have 3 compression straps going down each side, as well as three going down the front panel.

I own both a Fulcrum and Crater and have been using them for a couple of years now packing with a day pack of around 35-50lbs and have packed out elk and moose in BC. The Fulcrum is too strappy for me although if you get it setup so that you only use equipment in the wings it works great. The crater is the pack if you are going to be packing heavy. IMO the 9 adjustable strap system is the best option for these larger packs, giving you the ability to go from a minimalistic day pack, to a full bone in with the hide on hind moose quarter right in the bag with no hassle of a meat shelf, which this pack has if you want. This year I had 2 bone in front quarters and all the neck meat in the main bag it was tight but it fit. Cinch up the straps with your regular day pack and everything is tight and quiet. The strength, adjustability and versatility of this pack makes it a decision that you won’t regret. It is the do almost anything pack.
